History of Monzón

Monzón plant is situated near Huesca, Aragon, covering an area of 36 Ha within the Paúles Industrial Complex.

Plant facilities

  • Two Silicomanganese furnaces with a power of 25 MW and  three electrodes with a diameter of 1.800 mm, which handle a current of 115.000 amps each and a rotating drum with a diameter of 10.5 m and a height of 6 m
  • Two Ferromanganese furnaces with a power of 10 MV and  three electrodes with a diameter of 450 mm, which handle a current of 31.000 amps each and a rotating drum with a diameter of 4,40 m and a height of 2 m
  • The furnaces are swivel-mounted and can be rotated and they can be moved from the loading area to the casting area

Location

The factory is situated on the left bank of the River Cinca,province of Huesca.

The factory is connected by the National Road 240 and the Spanish railway system. In addition, the plant has its own railway siding, with a length of 4 km, which includes 6 branches that provide direct access to the plants' different warehouses.
